Summer Fun In San Diego!

Last year I had my bachelorette party in San Diego!
It was an amazing trip which can be recapped for you here
and we planned to do another adventure this year. However, two parts of the crew were unable to come :(
This trip was much more relaxed and basically we beached it all day and then went out in the evening!!
Day 1
Here we come San Diegoooo!!
 PB Shore Club!
 :)
Well...here we are again at the Shore Club with Miss Kristin!

We ended up going to dinner and then went and laid out on the beach and chit chatted, we only wished we had a little beach fire!

Day 2
Our little beach set up!

We cleaned up a bit and ready to get dinner...
We found this neat bar...Hehe! :)
I bought Brian this Super Cool hat ;)

Day 3
We had a great breakfast and took an awesome walk around the bay! We ended up here and enjoyed more sunshine! :)
We didn't take out the camera much this night, this is all we got. But we sure did count down the minutes to my birthday and did some celebrating!!

Thanks for all the fun ladies...it was another fabulous trip!
So the new plan is to do the next one in six months not twelve! You in?!?!

Spring Break Part 2

Thursday…
Lydia, Jessica, Kristian and I celebrated St. Patrick’s Day together! (with some green beer)

Friday...
Brian and I went to the Drive-In
We have been together before...years ago but it reminds me of my birthday when I was little! I am surprised we would go in July but it was so much fun! I highly recommend going…we grabbed some goodies and blankets and snuggled up to watch two movies for $6.50 (that’s a deal right there)! We saw Limitless (not too bad) and Just Go With It (cute love story, funny Adam Sandler parts).
It was a quick Spring Break...but needed and enjoyed! :)

Spring Break 2011 Part 1

I have to admit that I was slightly disappointed I wasn’t going to San Diego for Spring Break (it would be the first time in 6 years) and that means no beach, wineries, or Kristin hang time that we enjoyed last year! However, this year it's a thrifty style spring break and so far I have been enjoying! Like my mom always says, “If you do have fun it’s your own (damn) fault!” It sure is one to live by.
I started Monday off by doing absolutely nothing! It was nice but I got a little stir crazy and was waiting (impatiently) for Brian to come home! ;) He gets home and says I don’t know if I can leave you home alone like this. Hahaha! I did make dinner (after watching hours of cooking shows) and we ate out on the back patio. A very nice start of the week.

Tuesday
Kristian and I headed to Jessica and Kristen’s and we met up with two of her work friends Liz & Liz and did a little happy hour at Zipps! It was fun to be with new company as it started a lot of new and interesting conversation!

Wednesday
I headed to the bank to change my name on all my accounts! Unfortunately I still have the picture on there from who knows when. I am only complaining because people have looked at it and made comments. One kind woman said…”Oh hunny, you look much better in person, when was this taken?” She then says, “I bet you won’t come back to our restaurant after me saying something like that!” Yes you are right I haven’t returned! So obviously the picture is bad! But I am stuck with it! After that…
We headed to the new Spring Training field for the Diamondbacks and Rockies. The facility is huge and very pretty. We found a little trick for parking…you can park at the shops off Indian Bend (North side of the Pavilions) and then walk right behind the movie theater and tah dah there it is! We parked on the south side of Indian Bend and got on a trolley, I was giggling as the trolley crossed the street went behind the theater and there we were. Boy, it sure was a hot day! When I got home my legs were on fire and I had a funny looking tan but it was a nice afternoon!

So, half way through the break but looking forward to ending with some more fun! Eeee! Brian and I are going to have a Friday date night! Drive In Movie here we come!!! I am hoping we can get the chairs from the backyard in his car, cross your fingers for us!!

A Beautiful Painting!

I believe it was about a year and half ago or so my dearest friend Kristin Humphrey displayed her art work at Solo Café in Tempe! I was able make it to her showing and there was one piece of hers that I just loved!!!

A Little Info about the Artist:

She really is a person you just want to be around! She has gone on dates with Brian and I, she spent a wonderful weekend with my most fabulous friends and sister in San Diego (see here and here), she brought us to Temecula to tour the vineyards and drink some wine (which I will never forget), and to top it off her mother married Brian and I. She is pretty spectacular!

I met with Kristin over my holiday break. It was for approximately an hour and a half but it was all we needed! We sat in Casa de Humphrey’s (Kristin I forgot what you called it, hope its close) Hot Tub chit chatting and catching up. She did try to convince me to drive back to San Diego with her. Two years ago I would have said yes in a minute, no questions asked or things to think about. However; my first thought was I have to check with Brian but he is camping, which leads to what about Fiona, and oh did I get paid this week. Isn’t that something how life begins to change? I kind of wish I was still serving, making quick money, enjoying my own schedule and gallivanting around town with Brian!
But back to reality…I had to say No, blah!
As she was still trying to kidnap me she gave me something very special…

(THIS)
Wow! OoohLaLa! Amazing! The colors are out of this world!
and said Merry Christmas!
I am not sure she really knew how excited I was and how heartfelt her gift was. She is very talented and I feel honored to hang her art work in our home! She doesn’t know it yet but I will repay her somehow!

Thank You Kristin!

Glendale Glitter and Glow

A fun and relaxing night with friends and mom! Not too mention the fantastic fat nasty food fix we had…a foot long hot dog, Indian fry bread, a Navajo taco that Brian would not stop talking about until it was gone ;) and of course kettle corn. It is so neat how big the hot air balloons are and how close you get to them. Usually you spot them far away in the air. The polar bear was really something! Overall, it is very hectic and you have to watch out for strollers that run over your feet but I would go again and recommend it to others, especially with kids!

New Years 2011!

What a fantastic night this was! I have decided New Years is not New Years unless you have something planned! Two years ago we went to the hospital to meet Miss Mylie Jo, Steve and Kelley’s daughter who is just a little fabulous spark of life! I am hoping her 2nd birthday was fantastic! And to be honest I have no idea what we did last year for New Years!

For the last two years (maybe longer) I have really wanted to have a Casino Royale New Years party! Totally fancy style with sparkly dresses, men looking good in suits, poker tables, passed hors d'oeuvres, sparkling drinks, party hats and balloons on the floor; I hope you are envisioning what I am! But you know how stuff goes…it just has not happened yet! It will, I promise you that!

However; it did get somewhat close this year. Jenny decided to have a Thrift Store Formal and I was able to help plan the party! Jenny, Twyla and I went thrift store shopping one Sunday afternoon, I had exactly what I wanted in mind which is always bad because you never actually find it. I wanted something tacky and sparkly; instead I found a one piece jump suit that gave me a camel toe and a red throw over the shoulder kind of thing! We went the day of to find Brian's attire which was extremely amusing, what do ya know his gave him a man toe. That may have been too much information but it’s quite hilarious!

Overall it was the party to end the year and start the new one just right! Jenny thanks for letting us get down in your house, here are the pics to share what a night we had!!

Sing-Off Finale!

Last year as Brian and I were preparing to move we happened to watch the most amazing show! Yes it was Sing-Off! Seriously it is one of the shows that you catch yourself (and Bri) just staring at the TV with  huge smiles on your faces and once they are done singing you are cheering as if you were at a concert! Well I will admit that some didn't do that to ya, but more than half did :)

I was so excited to here that there would be a second season! There are only a few episodes so some may have missed it, but don't worry we have last year and this year DVRed. For the finale we decided to have a little pizza party and cheer the final few on...I personally was all for Street Corner Symphony! Have a listen to Hey, Soul Sister!

Oh and I had to throw this one in becasue it reminds me of my dad! :)
but feel free to browse the other groups!!

Everybody Wants to Rule the World

Here are a few pics of the delicious pizzas and dessert (shoot didn't get a final shot of dessert) we made!

This was the deep dish pepperoni!

Cooks in the kitchen!

White Pizza with tomatoes and ricotta on the left
Pesto and Mozzarella on the right
These three things put in that pan is what we called...
Magic in Your Mouth! Sooo good!
