1/2 Year!

So it’s been 6 months of marriage and 9 and half years of LOVE! Well of course we have had the good ol’ ups and downs but boy we sure continue to work on our relationship day by day. Its funny sometimes the stuff that we argue about (communication) and it is even funnier with the stuff we laugh about (Fiona Pearl, life in general, and each other)! Brian truly is the most kind hearted and patient man I know. I could go on and on about all of his qualities and I would be lying if there weren’t things that I complain about too (he is a real man) ;)

Over the last six months we both have been challenged…
After the wedding money became an issue that we began to deal with more and more each day…it seriously hit us with a shit ton of bricks. This was something we have not had to deal with to this degree yet but there it was! At first you don’t notice and then it creeps up on you in every which way. It’s a terrible thing. It has allowed us to really evaluate our needs and wants…but I have to admit I don’t think we have ever went above our means, ok maybe I just pushed it here and there on FUN stuff! Even though we have been challenged in the last few months we have grown together. I of course look forward to the next six months as we hit the real first year of marriage, this is just the hump! And a hump it has been! Brian has worked so hard in the last few months and I am confident that from here on it will be smooth sailing!

Brian,

I appreciate how hard you work each day for me and the family we can’t wait to start making! You have truly shown me over the years what an amazing man you are. Not only do I know this but so does our family and friends. I can’t wait to start our new chapter in life…Baby Love!! You are my main man and always will be. I love you!

Love, Lo

 "The Key to Love"
by Anon, 1st century China
"The key to love is understanding…
The ability to comprehend not only the spoken word,
but those unspoken gestures,
the little things that say so much by themselves.

The key to love is forgiveness…
to accept each others faults and pardon mistakes,
without forgetting, but with remembering
what you learn from them.

The key to love is sharing…
Facing your good fortunes as well
as the bad, together;
both conquering problems, forever
searching for ways
to intensify your happiness.

The key to love is giving…
without thought of return,
but with the hope of just a simple smile,
and by giving in but never giving up.

The key to love is respect…
realizing that you are two separate people,
with different ideas;
that you don't belong to each other,
that you belong with each other, and share a mutual bond.

The key to love is inside us all…
It takes time and patience to unlock all the ingredients
that will take you to its threshold;
it is the continual learning process that demands a lot of work,
but the rewards are more than worth the effort…
and that is the key to love."

Coral

Well here I was again…
Stranded, left for dead on the side of the canal!
(not really just being dramatic however,
I was ready to throw it in the canal!)
But…
If you haven’t been introduced yet, this is
Coral
my new bike (she has a basket now)!
We named her after the venomous snake we saw on the last hike.
It was red, black, and white! :)
The funniest part is that Lindsey was so worried about Snakes since the weather was changing. We thought she was acting a little crazy ;) Well at the very start of the hike there it was...mom spotted it! Here is a video which was supposed to be a picture... you can see it for a quick minute (barely)!

On our way out we were chatting with a ranger and we gave him the scoop on the snake we saw…he was so disappointed that we saw it and he didn't (that was his handbook we are looking at above). He said he has been working there for 3 years, 5 days a week and has been waiting to see one. Isn’t that crazy, we thought it was a hoot!

So my reason for the post was...
I have been cruising the canal and I have scared a few people recently. Even when you are far away and give the heads up you still scare the Sh*t out of people. Well guess what happened to me today…
I was cruising listening to All 4 One, She’s Got Skillz ;) working it on the bike( just kidding)and all of sudden my groove turns into a jolt when I hear “on your left”
I let out a weird noise
He apologizes immediately
I say no worries as I start to laugh
because I can see my scared self in action as
I have recently just done this to others!! Haha!
How do you prevent this?? No matter how far you are no one knows you are coming ! :)

I have been cutting up cucumber and red onion with lime juice and it adds a little freshness to the tacos, it also reminds me of the little taco shops in Mexico!

Moroccan Ladies Night

At the beginning of March I had a Moroccan Themed Ladies Night at my house. It was a lot of fun and very inexpensive to put together. I found almost all decorations and fabric at the thrift store on 50% off days (of course). I used a gift card from Hobby Lobby to get the plates and napkins and I painted the stems gold on all my old wine glasses! I ended up finding a lot of things at home too, like candles and pillows. I asked a few of the ladies for pillows, borrowed the curtains from mom and wah lah…it was transformed into this!

For food we had hummus, carrot slaw, tai peanut chicken skewers, olives, and couscous w/ lots of veggies. Ooh and we had oranges with honey and cinnamon which were delicious! My mom made cute little cookies too!
Deanna is a parent and friend from work and she has talked about doing henna on me for the last three years. She was telling me about a party she did and DING, she said party! That’s where it all started. She brought along Jennifer the dancer and they both did an amazing job! If you ever want to have a party, let me know I will send you their info!

Overall, it was an awesome ladies night in!

Looking forward to the next event. Any recommendations?

Because we have so much extra supplies (fabric, candles, etc.) we decided to add a little Moroccan flare to our bedroom. I will post pictures when it is complete!
